I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to come to Squamish and be part of this amazing community. I have been a registered midwife since 2008 and have worked in Guelph (Ontario) and briefly in Vancouver.
Being a midwife has been so satisfying because of how we get to witness some of the most powerful events in people’s life and guide them through these life altering moments. The relationship we build with our clients is also something I value deeply. Even though there are common themes, I love that every workday is a little different. After more than 10 years, I still marvel at this work and love being a midwife.
I enjoy this profession so much that I have spent a lot of time teaching too. I have been a preceptor for midwifery students in Ontario because I find sharing my passion for midwifery very rewarding. I teach Neonatal Resuscitation for the Canadian Pediatric Society, Fetal Health Surveillance under the Champlain Maternal Newborn Regional Program and CPR for the Heart and Stroke Society.
When I’m not working, I spend my time cooking, being outdoors, reading and traveling.I look forward to meeting you and being part of your care team. Thank you for welcoming me here.
